Testimony 1/8/12

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. That it is the only church that holds the Authority to act in God’s name and is lead today by Jesus Christ Himself. I know that God still speaks through a prophet on the earth just as He did through Abraham, Moses, and Isaac. I know that today that prophet’s is Thomas S. Monson. I know that God also speaks to man directly through personal revelation. I know that the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the other standard works are scripture and will bring us closer to God when we humble ourselves to be taught. I know that through Joseph Smith all things were and are restored so that the church has been organized and the word has been establish exactly as it was in Christ’s day. If nothing else I know that the gospel, when lived, makes people better, not lives; but, that through becoming better with in ourselves our lives and the lives of those around us are blessed and are bettered as a natural result of the change with in us.  But it is people that the gospel of Jesus Chris changes. Jesus Christ is my Savoir, my Redeemer and my best friend. God is my Father, The literal Father of my spirit. I am a daughter of God and He has sent me here to learn and grow and fully expects me to return to Him. He loves me. He wants and expects all of us to return to Him. That is why we have temples; houses of God, beginning to dot the earth: to seal family members to God and to one another for time and all eternity. The restoration of the gospel makes it possible to seal those who lived while to Authority to act in God’s name was not on the earth. This is part of our responsibility while on this earth at this time. To give the opportunity to be sealed to every child of God that has ever lived on the earth. “the work will go forth boldly, nobly and independent until…the great Jehovah shall say, “The work is done”.
